Plum wood

Post by Bushman »

I was given the trunk of a plum tree so last week I chopped it up to get at the hearts. I found it easier once I got it to a working size then found it easier to cut with my bandsaw. Last night I fired up the BBQ to cook some elk steaks and decided to toast some of the wood. I thin it turned out pretty good and am glad I did it outside because when I brought it inside the wood was steaming through the aluminum foil and starting to smell up the house so I took them outside to cool. This morning I threw a few chunks on some Sweet Feed. My plan since I have plenty of chips I will do a little each time I BBQ. Tonight I think I will have salmon for dinner. :D

PS: Mash Rookie, next time I am in your neck of the woods I will bring you some chips.
