Anyone had experience with these staves?
I was at a friend's house yesterday, and he gave me a package of Steven Raichlen's Wine Barrel Staves. They're intended for smoking foods, and look to be from a red wine barrel. They look authentic to my eyes, but I don't want to go sticking them in a bottle of rum (or in my mead) and ruin some perfectly good drink. I usually use staves from used JD barrels, but free is free. Any thoughts?
I have a very assertive way. It's wake up, move your ass, or piss off home.
