2" column to keg

Hey everybody I have a quick question that hopefully is easy to answer. Would soldering a 2" ferrule to my column (seen here, http://www.hillbillystills.com/Copper_t ... _p/cs2.htm ) connect to a 15.5 gallon sanke keg with a tri-clamp? Or do I have to use the whole copper pipe to keg kit from mile-hi?
This is my first time working with a keg and I've looked around on the sight and can't find a page about keg connections, thanks for your time reading this post!

I'm going to use this "easy flange" method for the extension I'm going to make for my 3". It looks pretty clean.

I used the easy flange technique and everlasting PTFE gasket. Probably have a $1:25 in the whole thing and found it very easy to do.
