Hey guys!

Just wanted to say hi. I have been reading from this forum for some time now. Whiskey is my goal in researching from here. I am a former Canadian that lives in MN now and have been a fan of Crown Royal and drinking it for some 25 years. I would love to create a more pure Rye/Blended whisky that would suit my pallet.

I currently have a sweet feed mash fermenting right now and plan on progressing from there.

Any thoughts on what my next step should be? My still is a 15.5 gal boiler with a copper tri clamped still head. I have a 20l personalized barrel just waiting for a suitable batch to start aging in it. That was a gift from my wife.

Anyway, I'm glad to be aboard and look forward to learning from you more experienced folks.

Nice barrel I recently purchased a few on a deal and the only problem I have is trying to decide what to put in them! Welcome to the boards!

Thanks! It's on display in my living room. I'm excited to use it. Being only a 20l barrel it is supposed to age liquor 8 to 10 times faster than a 52 gallon barrel. I could do a ten year whiskey in 10 months. How awesome is that? And even better is that I can drink right from the barrel!

My only issue is that I want to save it for the right batch of whiskey, and it will take me a bit to progress to that point
