I have been using Gerts method for when i polish with carbon. So dose anyone also prewet there carbon before puting it in the fitering unit. I think it is a major pain in the butt trying to put wet carbon in that small hole in the funel. O by the way, i am using a funel and pipe like brewhus sells.

Is it really worth it to preweting the carbon before using it.

I have also been recycling it by boiling about 1 hr, changing the water about 3 times. then drying it on the grill.

How many times can you reuse it before it loses effectivenes. It seems not to be working as good as it did when it was new, and its only been reused 3 times.

There is no problem in getting the wet carbon into the filter - just use water to make a slurry
