Hi Y'all.... Not too informed about specifics when it comes to controllers so I thought I would run this by you guys who know about this than me! I have a 4000watt 220v adjustable scr voltage regulator that I use to control a 3000watt heating element in a 15.5 gallon keg kettle. I'm wondering if I could use this controller to operate a 1500watt 120 volt element using standard 120volt outlet instead of hooking it up to 220volt? Just more convenient to use 120 instead of 220v. Then i can sit my "Pot" still right on my counter and let her rip. Any thoughts on if this would work? Cause damage to my controller? Any other considerations? Thanks for any and all respponses!

you can easyly build a heater using a stove element, i got mine at the restore for 5 bucks still in the package, i put it in an old 100amp meter socket box, fit perfect, ran an so cord out to plug into my controller box that has a 220v outlet, and a 220v plug in on a short piece of so cord.

would need specs on the controller. some will operate on either, some wont.

I've got a few of those controllers, so I just now tested it on 120VAC and it had no problem adjusting the voltage down to 10VAC. Not to say that it won't eventually destroy the SCR, but I have no reason to think it would. Given the low price, I can't imagine any reason to use an SSR for these applications. Just make sure to hook up a fan to keep it cool.
