Oaking question

I've taken some UJSSM out of 1.5 gallon barrel after about 2 plus months. It has good color a good flavor in my opinion. Ive given samples to various people who had very good things to say. One person on the other hand is trying to give me good criticism in hopes in improving my product. His comments were that it had a good oak flavor and that I should be very happy for my first time around. The only thing he said he didn't like was it was a little on the sweet side for him. I told him it was a sugar wash but I agreed after another taste. So with that said, it was a slow single run off of my pot still that I Oaked. If I would have stripped and then done a spirit run would it have taken some of the sweetness out of it? I wasn't in the habit of doing that before for fear of losing the corn flavor. I guess i just figured another run would just bring the proof up and take my flavor with it.I have since added a thumper and have put feints from previous runs as the charge. I was hoping someone would tell me this would remove some of the sweetness and maybe a little of the flavor. I Oaked some with of it that I ran this way. Time will tell me but I know some of you can tell me right now
