Hi! I was wondering if a ss pot still with a copper worm would work? Would it be enough with a copper worm to remove impurities and sulfur (if any)?
I know that a liebig condenser probably will be more efficient,but I would like to be able to use the still without constant running water. Also I really like the copper worms I have everything I need to make the still out of stainless, hope to get some feedbak

Yes, that would work... You only need copper in the vapor path so the boiler doesn't have to be copper... Even an all SS still with some copper scrubber in the vapor path will suffice...

A stainless stock pot with annealed copper tubing to a worm condenser is like the tricycle of stills..... just about everyone starts on one

It's a great way to get introduced to the hobby, learn to make cuts and the related processes, and it's cheap so if you don't like the hobby, you aren't in for a whole bunch of crap you'll never use again

Make sure to read up on the proper ways to seal your still.... no plastics, no synthetics. Drilling a hole in the stock pot lid and securing the tubing with flour paste works great as long as the tube's weight is supported by something else. More flour paste on the rim of the pot seals the lid to the boiler, and badda bing badda boom, you have a still

If just about every bit of it is submerged in water it should be fine...

How much cooling power you need is directly related to how much power you have. I believe there's a calculator on the home site that will help you out with the length and diameter of the worm if you know the power of your stove/element/burner.

Also depending on how long your runs are or how big your boiler is, you may need to have a system to change the water. Siphoning/scooping the warm water off the top and adding cool water is one way, you can also make ice packs by soaking a towel in foreshots and putting it in a freezer bag, putting it in the freezer overnight and adding those to the bucket for cooling as well. You can reuse those again and again too.
