Worm?

I am a first timer and am in the process of building my still and I have access to stainless steal tubing and was wondering if there is any reason I can't use it as a worm

ok i give, how do you bend ss into a coil?

If it is annealed such as a 304 grade you can wind it as you would a normal worm out of copper, not sure how tight you could wind it. There are several companies around that will do it for you or you could do it yourself.

I priced annealed 304 tube before and from memory it was not cheap.

Well I'm a welder and have a pin wheel I already twisted it I was just wondering if it would work I have already made it I just welded the tip to a piece of pipe and started spinning it in the pin wheel and hold the tube still so it would twist but the tube was free so that's why I want to use it if there is no reason why it wouldn't work

would depend on size of tubing and are there any flat spots in it if your talking brake line then no its too small the smallest we would go on a worm is 3/8 most wont go under 1/2 due to the fact that it can clog easily and mount pressure in your system doesnt take much to clog a 1/4 inch tube, not sure what your using as you dont give the size

+1 jholmz as long as your talking about using the right size then there is no reason it will not work. imo you wanna use some copper in your setup somewhere. would like to see pics of this ss worm!
