Hello all,

I was wondering what is the best/safest way to connect my tower to my keg. some have told me to just weld or solder it in but I didn't want to have to make more holes to add in mash and empty it. I was wondering if i was to thread the tower and screw it into the keg and maybe cover the edge with Teflon tape would it still be safe. It seems like it would work but I have never built one before and wanted to hear other peoples experiences, if it will leak ect.

If I were you I would go with a triclamp like most everybody else here. For my first bok I tiged a 2 inch half coupling to the top and now see that it was totally unneeded. Make an ever lasting gasket and ez flange for it and call it good

I purchased a sanitary tri-clamp fitting that had a 2" male threaded on one end, then used a copper female threaded fitting soldered to the tower.

You can buy the ptfe triclamp gaskets which are extremely durable. You just have to shave off the bump on one side of the gasket to suit facing up to the keg side of the joint.

I can mount my reflux column to my keg in about 10 seconds and then disassemble when done. I have seen other examples in pictures on the site here.
