Water Distillation - Strange Residue

Does anyone know about water-treatment/quality in Flagstaff, AZ?
I distill my water, and it used to leave a white chalky residue in the distiller (when its 4.5-hr process of distilling a gallon of water was finished); however, this changed about 4 days ago - now, the water (instead of leaving a white chalky residue) leaves a pinkish-(in some "spots" at the bottom of the distiller, it even appeared "cooked", thus darker)beige residue.
I think my cognitive functions are being impaired, but this could be psychosomatic in nature. I usually do not become ill at all, but I see small abrasions on my skin that appear "inflamed" (slightly red).

Note: there is some red rock out here, but the water used to leave only a white chalky residue - nothing like what it is now leaving.

The only problem I have is that pesky alcohol that comes from distilling wash....... I thought all I was supposed to get was good clean water!
