Guys, i need help.... I was experimenting and mixed cracked corn, sweet feed, rye, malted barley, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar.... I used 48 hr turbo yeast... 3 gallons worth of mash.... It only took one day for the yeast to remove approximately 349 parts of sugar per liter..... The distillate is slightly blue and smells terrible with a hint of ammonia!!! What happened and what can i do?

your first mistake was using the turbo yeast, that stuff isn't worth a hill of beans. Next, I bet if you look inside your worm and other copper parts it will be green. If so that will have to be removed.

to put simply the turbo is the problem, or part of it.
turbos have lots of nitrogen to make then work fast.
and excess nitrogen and a neutral /alkaline wash makes ammonia,the ammonia erodes the copper and------

Toss that mess, which should probably have been a sacrificial run anyway if this was your first... Then head on over to the Tried and True Recipe forum and follow one of them as closely as possible and you'll have far better luck... And it wouldn't hurt to get up to speed on the theories and fundamentals of each process you're dealing with here... Not sure what you were trying to make but by the sounds of that cluster-fuck it's no wonder you had problems... Grains and turbo yeast don't mix - period... Slow down and do things right...

I get blue when I clean my still by running vinegar and then water. It takes more time, but corrosion builds up inside copper and you have to clean it out first.

Copper will canker if you aint clean with it.

its does not need to be scrubbed to be clean ,rinse and dry.
if for whatever reason it does need more. they do have tubing brushes used in milk /beer lines ,also balls that can be blown or sucked threw if you have power..
