I looked up what debittered brewers yeast is, how it's debittered, and the side effects of debittering.

I'm gonna guess, and say no.

Looks like it would work fine as a nutrient. Might be less expensive to use tomato paste, cereal or bulk bought baker's yeast as a nutrient, though.

Yes, you get pretty much the same benefits using bakers yeast, just boil a few grams in a cup or 2 of water to deactivate/kill the yeast and add it to your fermenter. You can strain it or add the liquid and all. It's much more complete b vitamins than tomato paste.
I'm goin the distance...

Thank you all.

I have a birdwatchers going with tomato paste but want to as well get a hard lemonade going and dont want to add tomato paste to that. Was hoping I could use the debittered brewers yeast in the lemonade since the recipe I will be using called for 6tsb yeast nutrient.

I can get bulk debittered for pennies which was making me lean towards it if it was an acceptable nutrient.

I'll be making a wine so to speak, no distillation for the lemonade.

Hi
Why don't you post the recipe you have in mine and I know you will be helped. The brewers yeast you are referencing is a neut for us right people? It does help the yeasts b vits in the wash but they need more.

3 bottles of 32 oz 100% lemon juice
7 lbs sugar (or 16 cups) to ferment
3/4 tsp tannin
6 tsp. yeast nutrient (3 now, 3 later)
2 tsp. yeast energizer (1 now, 1 later)
Approx, 4 1/2 gallons water
Yeast Slurry
Potassium metabisulfite (Kmeta)
Potassium sorbate (sorbate)

that's the recipe.

hoping to have it going for the weekend if I can figure this out haha.

Thanks for posting the recipe it will help. The first thing I see is your ph is going to be so low the yeasts are going to hate it in there and if they start will check out early. I hope the big guys will fix this if I'm wrong.

even with the potassium added seams acidic

Yes the yeasts do check out early. You add the second set of nutrients and energizer when you rack the first time.

really hoping I can pull this off for the misses

I'll for sure let you know....ill start a topic when I get it going. Might try two. One with debittered and another with some other nutrient, see how it goes.

if you had to recommend a nutrient for this what would it be?
keeping in mind you don't distill this off and drink the "wash" we will say.

My guess would be:
1 ea Vitamin B-50 pill, crushed
1T Calcium Carbonate powder (or more, to pH <= 5.2)
1T DAP
1T boiled yeast
all at the beginning of the ferment

Yes,Brewer's Yeast is an excellent source of protein and several B-vitamins. It is produced by cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae on malted barley in the production of beer. After fermentation, the yeast is seperated from the beer, roller dried and debittered.
