First I would like to say thanks to all of those responsible for this site it is a priceless resource (only wish I had come across it sooner). I have always had a desire to learn the art of spirit making and have never ran across anyone who was willing to teach. Finally bit the bullet and done some research (not enough tho) and from what I have read on here like a lot of other people ran out an purchased a CM 2 IN 13 Gall Hybrid from Mile High. I can say I am not totally disappointed the wait time was a little excessive but the craftsman ship was second to none. Since I have had this setup I have made several runs all of which were from sugar water using Turbo Yeast and the product came of from 90 to 95 percent. I am heating with Propane and have got fairly decent at controlling the run with temperatures at top of column maintaining 174 to 175 it is amazing what one degree will do to the output. My product always smells and taste awful after reading till 2:30 this morning I figured out way. I went to town this morning and got supplies to make the modifications needed to improve my Reflux I had figured out on my own to run two separate water connections. Seemed to me when you slow down water flow to the Reflux chamber output increased and you needed more flow on the condenser a double edge sword. I will work with this set up and get the most out of it then after more research and suggestions will probably built a different setup later on (never been one to back down from a challenge). We spend most of our weekends on the water either in the swamps or laying around in a cool natural spring which is only accessible by Airboat I enjoy sharing my spirits with friends not for profit look forward to the day I will be able to return the favor of answering questions on the Forum
