Very cool man, at least it has the possibility to be pretty cool depending on how they go with it. You reckon they built that still from scratch just using some plans? It kinda looks like a clawhammer still to me...

I searched my program guide and didn't find anything. The date of the Facebook post was Wednesday, Oct. 30th and the photo has Wednesday written on it, so I wonder if maybe it already aired this past Wednesday.

looks like they're testing the bad myths:

that tweet was Oct 28, so I doubt it will air soon since it looks like they're still filming. Plus they'll have to edit the footage

From the Discovery website:

In this moonshiner-inspired episode, the MythBusters find out if an exploding still really could blow your house down and if you really could use hooch to fuel an unmodified car on a "moonshine run".

Nothing like blowing a house up for a huge step backwards in any hopes of ever getting this thing legalized. Love the show but I hope if they suceed (which I'm sure they will) that they give a good explanation on the reasons and likelihood of it happening in reality.

The discovery channel already blew up a shed in the "Never do this at home" series - they had a mid-sized shed, set up a still and blew it up, blaming the production process. Simple pot still with a worm ... however the worm was not in a barrel (so I guess air cooled like some morons do) and the worm was on it's side ... no doubt, if it was actually distilling likker, it was on purpose set up to fail (since destroying things is the point of the show).

At least Mythbusters has the option of failing the myth. But no doubt if they fail on blowing up the area legit, they will modify it to the point at the end to try and cause the explosion. Hopefully, like they normally do, they get some expert in to describe the process properly ... but in true fashion, it will probably be Tickle ... lol

Thanks for the reminder 700G. I set the DVR to record it in case I forget. Better them than the other group of folks that are on this network. I'm sure they will blow something up but at least they will give us a good explanation as to why, hopefully.
These guys and gals are pretty damn smart.

Looks like they blow up a still. Not sure I want to sit on the couch with my beautiful supportive wife and have her watch them anhiliate an outhouse with an exploding still. Not sure she'd appreciate that they blocked off the output or whatever dumbass move they did to get it to explode.

Maybe Ill catch the rerun at 1AM

Now lingerie myths explored with Kari, or Kari explored or.. uh.... kari's lingerie explored.... sign me up for that episode.

Well they are doing their best to blow something up, aren't they. I don't agree with the "confirmed" verdict.

Well, I guess what they proved is - having a flamable vapor in a closed area with an ignition source is dangerous, well duh. Kinda like houses blowing up from natural gas leaks, or an open gasoline can in the garage next to a gas water heater. As usual, they pushed the logical limits to prove their point. Can't say that it did much to promote our cause. They even managed to mimick the stupidity of the moonshiners series - how many of you folks sit outside your still house while making a run or drive off somewhere to do an errand while a run is in progress. I think the whole context of the thing was demeaning to those of us who actually DO practice good safety while distilling.

Oh well, wtf,

I guess I need to move my neon transformer from above my still. Or at least take the lighter fuel rag off of it.

Frick and Frack dont have the balls to go on national television and tell everyone the government poisoned to death thousands of us during prohibition.

YUP. Them assholes were looking for shock appeal, not bringing truth to light. They actually perpetuated myth and nonsense.
