Home Distiller

What do you guys use/recommend to finish copper with to keep it's luster. I have found several ways to clean the stuff but nothing concrete to use for the finish that can take the heat we use. I actually don't care what the outside looks like as long as the working parts are clean but my partner thinks the tarnish and patina is an eye soar.
