Thank you all

I would like to just take a minute and say thank you to all of the people here who have spent their time and given their knowledge to people like me. I taught my self how to distill but was smearing my heads all the way around and did not even know about 'cuts and fractions'. I was always wondering why I could not produce a clean whiskey. I got my first home still from a friend that showed me one time how to distill before he had to go on a state mandated 'vacation' before he passed it on to me.
Since then I have encountered many failures, limited successes and way too many frustrations. Although feeling a very high sense of accomplishment as I drank my first safe yet terrible tasting whiskey surrounded me I still was seeking knowledge. I was very iffy about doing any research on the net but I found this website. Boy am I glad that I joined this community! In the short time that I have been here I have been on these forums and parent site reading at least 1 hour a day. I remember the first day I joined I read so much my brain hurt and I had to pull up the wiki just to understand the terminology. Now I feel comfortable in what I am producing and will soon be running my first all spirit run from a sour wash recipe.
I can only show my gratitude to all those people who have helped me with critical info and patient hearts. Thank you all so much! I am in the process of building a new still with a friend of mine who is teaching me how to work with copper. I am so excited to be a part of this community for a long time to come! Thank you all very much!

Excellent post. Not too many stop to think about such things. I am also thankful for what has been given to me here and all the good folks who contributed to it.

remember that you may think something is easy and others think that is hard. Lots of pictures and explanations of steps will help others.

This hobby is not for the feint of heart. There are ups and many downs but true satisfaction awaits those who are adamant in their journey. I could not have produced what I have if it were not because of this website! Thank you all so much!! I am waiting on my sour wash to finish up and I will let everyone know how my cuts and finished product turned out!

We all started somewhere on the ladder, all you can do is keep growing and learning and the rest will follow

It makes me happy that people do venture into this hobby as I Do believe it is a very rewarding hobby, and can get very technical

I always love it when people keep asking me how much potatoes I use to make my vodka, and then look at me funny when I tell them I use sugar from the pantry....
