Quite a few are going to the moonshiners jamboree, in Tallula Falls, NE Ga. Sept. 22. Been an annual event for many years. Even a bunch of retired revenoors participate. Come join us.

What happens at this moonshiner's jamboree?

From what I have heard from the past, they have an old time pot still, moonshiner size running- as an exhibit. I think it is basically a blue grass festival, with moonshining as the theme.

However, one thing that is happening this year, is that those of us that are going from all the different forums, are careying adequate samples of their best, for sampling and shareing. Hopeing to get a private place for a pig pulling- whole hog and shareing of homemade, and tall tales. The Jamboree itself is in a state park.

Hopefully, there will be quite a turnout of home distillers.

I think this one started in the early 60's.

Mtn Walker, I would like to attend this gathering for the music and/or the other. I have looked at all the websites about Tallulah Falls and Tallulah Gorge that I could find and no mention of the festival you mention for Sept 22. If anybody has more info would you please let everybody know. Ain't long till Sept. 22. Thanks,Morgan

Morgan, Should be a good time. here is a link.

http://gastateparks.org/net/calendar/de ... 139890.0.1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow.

I understand there are a lot of camping grounds around there, and its almost in the middle of nowhere. Hope to see you.

And yeah. I will now be doubly careful, though from some private reports, they turn a blind eye at this one, unless you get to the point where you need attending to. Uncle Jessie's moderation rule>

We are flying (private plane) or driving to High Valley Resort http://www.highvalleyresort.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow in Suches, GA. It's about 50 miles west of Tallulah State Park. If they have any Bunkhouses (single room log cabin) available they are $40 a night. In any case...Kathy and I will be wearing pink shirts  ...yes...real men can wear pink! ...anyway...that will make us easy to spot. Hope to see someone there

I'd love to make it but I can't. Maybe in the future. Never been to that part of Georgia, is it anywhere near Resaca?
