Anybody living in BC know where I can get an aquarium water pump. The one I got last year from Brewhaus died. I'd get another from them but the shipping is nuts and they charge in US$ but they're located in Canada. $20 US for the pump and $22 US to ship it. So the $20 pump would end up costing me almost $52 CAD by the time I get it. I called a couple of aquarium supply places around here and they don't carry anything like that, which strikes me strange.
The pump is rated at 2000l/H at 2.5M head or 528 g/h at 8.2 ft head. Any ideas?

Re: Aquarium Water Pump
Are you talking about a pump for circulating water through your condenser, if so try pond pumps as a search?

2000 lites per hour, i.e 33.33 litres per minute? that a lot of water if being used for still.... unless you trying to pump through 200 feet of hose and have a lot of loss...
Edited.... I see after a closer read its a high flow low head type of pump, average bilge pump kind of spec.
Princess Auto carries a lot of those kinds of pumps. As bushman said, pond pump, kinda the same thing.

Ya it's a tiny pump that reads big flows but most of the little ones won't pump against a head of more than a 2 feet. The vertical distance from the inlet to the outlet of my liebig is more than that. I'm going into town in a few days and will check out PA, Home Depot, some pet supply places and maybe Canadian Tire. Worst case scenario I get a bigger pump from PA and use a valve to throttle it. It will still be cheaper.

Sounds like a good plan . Those low head pumps don't seem to lend themselves much to our hobby .hilbilly wrote:Ya it's a tiny pump that reads big flows but most of the little ones won't pump against a head of more than a 2 feet. Try Princess Auto. They have a cheap ($15 or so) 12V submersible pump which definitely can pump on 5+ feet.
