been saving stripping runs of UJSSM pulled jars out of the cabinet and one of them ( i believe it was mostly tails) had some floaties suspended in the jar. it didnt smell bad so i filtered it through a coffee filter into the boiler with the rest of the low wines and ran it slow. when the filter dried it had green specs in it. is this normal?

I've had them running hard into late tails. They will eventually settle to the bottom of the jar. I Didn't add that jar into the feints jar. just dumped it out.

sounds like just the green patena from the copper, must not have used it for awhile, keep that beast bizzy and it wont happen. just filter and run it again.

Been used weekly for the last month. Was surprised to see the green. But that was actually the first run of the year after it sat fpr a few weeks. Whats the best solution to clean with in that case?

When I made my column, I made it so the column could be removed, turned upside down, all openings temporarily capped, and the column filled with vinegar for a soak. After an hour pour the vinegar back into a container for later soaks.

Clean with tomato juice. Use copper wool and a snake rope to brush out your tubing. You might have PH issues causing excess oxidation. The rope and wool will get into places vinegar just can't clean alone.
