Anyone interested in making me a pot still condenser?

Post by Godzilla2456 »

Hey gents,

I live in NSW, Australia. If anyone would be interested in making me a pot still condenser to fit the T500 boiler. I'd be very interested.

Still spirits have released there own Alembic pot still condenser. The only trouble is, it's not released in Australia yet and it's very expensive!

The condenser itself is selling for $200 and the dome lid is selling for $250. That's $450 for the condenser. Plus I'm assuming a good $100 to get it shipped over from NZ (The only place they are currently selling it) to Australia.

So $550 is a lot of money for a bloody pot still condenser. Here is a link to the product: http://stillspirits.com/collections/sti ... -pot-still" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

It looks very pretty.

Seems like you could get some sheet copper and copper tube and build one pretty easy. It would have a tapered lid and not that nice rounded shape but it would work well. It is very similar to the first one I built for my still. Look up Cone Calc. it is a free download to create a flat layout of a cone. do some annealing and make a ring then hammer it out into an angled band for the lid seal and solder together. here is a look at my first one. not pretty but it worked well.

All I can say is. Wow.

emptyglass's work is absolutely beautiful. I'd give an arm and a leg... and probably a ball to have one of he's custom made stills.

I've contacted him about making me a condenser for my T500.

Thank's guys. I appreciate the help.

I really like this forum. Everyone seem's so nice and helpful
