Hey, wondering if any WV members could tell me about the New River Gorge(Lansing WV?) and if it worth the long drive for a few days rafting and hiking in late April? Thanks in advance

Rafting New River Gorge is kickass . Best call ahead to check water conditions . Winter we've had , conditions might be kinda rough in the Gorge .

If you rock climb at all it is so worth it.

A good friend of mine's wife is a guide there. Shits fun man. For the young and older. Def a experience. Me and the wife we're talking about going up there this fall earlier tonight.. Try it out man. you won't regret it.

Thanks for the input. I will definitely call ahead when it gets closer, planning for the end of April. Hoping it won't be too cold to camp. Also looks like the place offers several different rafting options from really easy to class V rapids. They also offer a 3 zip line courses.

@ Woodshed, I like to rock climb but I fear I am too weak now lol, although I just started the "Insanity" workouts. Last year we went somewhere for hiking and my wife was trying to get down a small rock wall and was seriously 8 inches from the ground clinging to the rock, it was hilarious, but I doubt she would be up for it.

I might add other options are mammoth cave and big south fork, both in Ky.

If you enjoy visiting distilleries MM there are a couple craft distilleries close by as well. a google search will bring them up.
