I'm having no luck on sweet feed or all grain with no pellets so I bought rolled corn, barley , oats and molasses. Looking for recipe for a 50 gal wash. I've read till I'm cross eyed. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The Tried and True recipe T-Pee linked to has the formula for the proportions to make your own sweet feed mix. Keep in mind that it's not an exact science. If doing your own, you can Taylor it to your own taste.

The old sweet feed mix was called COB feed. It was simply I/3 cracked corn, 1/3 rolled oats and 1/3 crimped barley. Approximately 8-10 percent molasses was added for sweetness. Some feed mills adjusted the percentages depending on if the feed was for horses and mules or other livestock. Some mills would adjust the percentages based on the price of the three grains. JMHO

From my memory Ga Flatt did a cob/molasses receipe that rated KICK ASS +++and I think he called it Jack ass juice. He did a thread on it. Are you mashing or flavoring?

I mix corn , oats , and 6 row barley . All coarsely cracked or rolled . 5# of each , 60-65# white sugar , 7# brown sugar to 44 gallon wash . Been kick ass for my family for the last year . Got stupid on 2 ferments and bumped in 10# more white sugar and they stalled because the abv killed the bakers yeast . Still processed a good drop . just too much time fermenting and waste of sugar .

The Producer Pride All Grain (actually a COB with molasses added) shows 12% molasses. I have had excellent results with it, I see no problem making your own and you would have the benefit of controlling the make-up to suit your wishes.

Good luck.
