I need to rise above this pot still.

But every time I start to look into something a little better, my head starts spinning. They all just seem so complicated.

Which one would you recommend I concentrate on building first? Which would be the easiest?

What do you want to make? Neutrals? I use the pot still 95% of the time and only run my Boka a couple times , and end up with enough neutral to last me the year.

Bok And VM are easy builds.
Bok maybe cheaper but they say kinda slow.

I believe it was BigR says he simply reruns till the spent boiler charge runs clear.
This for his "pot stilled vodka".
Seems like a good game plan if you are using good ingredients for your fermentation.

Just thinkin bout Big R
Hope he is OK.

Great advice you have gotten so far, but to add, I have come to love my CM reflux, it is simple (after a few years or getting to know how it reacts in different situations) and very versatile, you can do a lot of different things with it if you have the patients to learn it and run it as slow as it needs to be run for certain outcomes. Just my 32 cents. Good luck.

Like OMD I like my CM. I got lucky finding this one then finding the mods for separated cooling systems before I got pissed at it. It's probably the most complicated still to learn to run properly but like OMD it's also one of the the most versatile.

For ease if you don't mind a little building, a modular-designed still with short column for pot stilling and a packed-column VM/LM that can be mounted on it with a couple of triclamps would be a bashup good way to go.
