Has anyone put diluted molasses in their thumper to give their rum more flavor? If so did it come out rum like or sweet?

I haven't tried molassas, but my guess is...it would foam up like crazy once it got heated up good. If you want to try...put a pot on the stove with some water and mollasas in it...and put the heat to it. Watch what happens. If it boils without foaming much...your good to go (try it). If it boils/foams over....I wouldn't use it in the thumper that way. Can always water it down or ?

Usage, I figured to water it down to about 30% molasses, but I definitely give it a stove check first, thanx

I was thinking of doing this as well. If you do it let us know the outcome.

I will, it'll be a while, I have ULSSM in both my fermenters.

I've seen claims of people adding Molasses to their thumper, but never saw a detailed "how this went" report.

I'm a fan of adding aged dunder to my 2nd thumper (I use 2). Gives a real nice roundness to my rum.
