Howdy everyone,
I don't know what possessed me to wait this long to indroduce myself. Maybe just felt like I should lay low but nevertheless, here I am....
I initially joined the forum in 2004, when I first began distilling, although under a different name. My best friend and I built a basic reflux still and procedeed to crank out lots of turbo yeast sugar wash, probably crappy tasting hooch. Honestly its hard to remember it clearly now! (college years)
I moved around some and incidently layed off distilling for several years. Well I'm back at it now but am much better informed and committed to making a quality drop. My current setup consists of a 15.5 ss keg boiler with a 2" copper potstill head and worm (I don't use this setup much anymore) and a 4 plate HS flute & 26 gal boiler. I am also in the process of building a 6 gal copper potstill w/ thumper for experiments.
The best drink I have hade thus far has been a Peaches & Corn split brandy (Thanks to Punkin). Most recently I have been using Jimbo's awesome Wheated Bourbon and sugarhead recipie and am saving up enough of the AG to fill my 5 gal barrel. I am also accruing a good amount of fruit to make some brandies this year.
I live in Texas and work in the oilfield. I have a wonderful wife (ie very tolerant of my hobby ) and a brand new 2014 model baby boy. I travel all over, domestic and internationally for work and am writing this from Singapore at the moment.
I can't say how much I enjoy everyone that contributes to these pages and hope I can contribute as well. I look forward to being more involved on the forum and wish to help some others just like hany of you have helped me.

Welcome to HD Squattingcoyote,
If you been around since 2004 I don't have to tell you about all the mountains of info on this site or the knowledgeable people. So how are you liking Singapore? I've been there several times myself. My family and I have been going there every other year for the last 25 years. My favorite place to stay is the Rosa Sentosa. It's just about the only hotel in Singapore that's on the beach. My recollection is that a bottle of booze is extremely expensive there. Oh ya, make sure you don't chew gum in public I think it's illegal or maybe it's spitting it out on the street that's illegal.
Cheers

Hey MitchyBourbon thank ya,
Yessir in '04 my username was, try not to laugh, Texbullrider. Talk about younger and dumber lol. Singapore is always good to visit. I usually make it over here a few times a year. Mostly for a day or two coming and/or going from a job. I've been laid up in the Hilton on Orchard rd waiting on a job in Indonesia. Basically alot of time to sit around drinking $15 beers deciding what I'm going to make as soon as I get home haha! And yes, you dont see folks spitting gum on the ground much. Gotta be sneaky and toss it in the bushes if theres no can around... Thank you again for the welcom and for helping me out before.

Yup, I remember countless tiger beers on the beach and nobody around cuz nobody in Singapore cares about being on a beautiful sandy beach.
My first trip I thought they might hang me. It was 20 years ago when they were fixin to cane that American kid for spray painting cars. We were returning to the US from India. A buddy of mine asked me to buy him one of those 8 hosed hookahs from India, which I did. Just before you land in Singapore they hand out a list of all the shit that gets you hanged and I start gettin nervous that I got that damn hookah. Well we get off the plane and over a loud speaker they called out my name and asked me to please report to the I n formation desk. I thought that was it, I told my wife I loved her and that she should take our 3 year old son and go on without me. She refused. When I got to the desk they said that they saw that I had a 4 day lay over and wanted to know if I would like them to have all our luggage forwarded to LA. I said yes, get it the hell out a here. They were just being efficient, I will never bring anything questionable into that country again. I really thought they might find that hookah and plant something on me so they could pin the tail on the donky.

Hahaha close call there.... On the customs declaration form they give you it still says "Death For Drug Traffickers Under Singapore Law". That's how to make folks walk the line. I always keep that show "Locked Up Abroad" in mind when traveling. Even something that you think is innocent can get you in a nine line bind. Like getting locked up at the Slovenian/Croatian border for having two passports ..... Just sayin
