backset from thumper

I searched around and found a lot on using backset. I have always used some myself for my recipe. I just went from a pot still to a pot still with a thumper. Is the backset that is in the thumper the same as what is in the pot? The backset in the thumper is milkier then what comes out of the pot so I was thinking it might give more flavor to the next wash. Any ideals?
