How we see fellow Forum members

Each of us have a mental image of what everyone else looks like. Their character comes through their comments and develops a picture in our minds eye. Let me give you a few examples of what I see and then you can beat me up for it.
Coyote; I see you as Sam Elliot, hat and all, maybe a little stiff from your neck surgery but still pretty spry.
Corene1; Strong and lean, slightly seasoned from the sun but still sexy.
Bushman; Educated, well dressed, well traveled, and loves to get on the water and have some fun, which in turn weathers the skin a little. Probably has a favorite hat that he wears only while boating.
Jimbo, Strong and fit but sometimes you walk with a limp from them damn knee surgeries, greying,(but aren't we all?) Nicely dressed and ready to have fun at the drop of a hat.
T_pee; You are still a mystery! My best guess is myself in 12 years.
Bear River; Young, strong, sharp, trying to hide the fact that you are wise beyond years by fitting into your surroundings as one of the locals.
Truckinbutch; I have seen pics of your finger's while holding a fish. They can only get that way from working your fingers to the bone. Balding and grey, but always have a smile, a laugh and a story.
So the reason I started this thread is because I met who I invisioned goose eye to be this last weekend. Respected, knows his shit, but I could still barely understand a freaking thing he had to say. No offense meant, but when you meet a persons doppelganger you have to say something!
So have at it. Let's hear what we look like!

This is a good one. I was thinking of making a post like this the other day but didn't know how to word it. I've found I get a picture of someone in my head, then read something else and it changes. Although I always give them a voice when reading their posts.

Of the people I have met from the forum. None have been even close to what I had in mind.
And I have the same thought about bushman. LOL
But there is one person here. That I bet everyone has the same picture of in their heads. That probably is far from the truth. But we would really like it to be true. That's Rad. LMAO
And I always pictured gooseye as my uncle bubbles. Very smart man. Who gave his knowledge freely. If you could understand him. If you didn't. He didn't waste his time with you. Spent his time out in the workshop. Building something. Always wore an old train engineers striped hat. He had something for everyone to sit on around the ol potbelly stove. With a pot of coffee sitting on it ready to offer. And tea in the fridge. I would suspect he had a jar to sip from hidden around there somewhere. I was young. So I missed stuff like that. But out all the cousins. He would usually single me out. Probably because I understood him. When he started talking about mechanical stuffs. He built my first gocart. But he wouldn't do it if I didn't help. So he tought me to make my first welds. And how to tune up a brigs engine. He was the closest thing I had to a grandpa on that side of the family. Moms dad died when she was young. So when we went down to see grandma. I always begged to go see uncle bubbles.
Anyway. He always wore that hat and some bibs. One time the bibs were stripped like the hat. And the other times it would be regular bibs. Always had a button up shirt with a collar. Older but when he walked around or did any work. You would never know how old he really was. And the hat covered the grey hair. Making him look even younger.
Sory for the bit of rambling. And sory goose If it bothers you? Hope it doesn't.

I'm thin, 6' tall, ponytail, long beard, and have a mountain man sense of fashion. I even wear those red one piece underwear with the butt flap in the winter.
UJ and Rad are my favorite avatar pics. FreeMountainHermit's is a funny as hell to... My wife caught me taking advice from one of Rad's posts. When she saw his avatar, she had a field day cracking jokes on me.
Anyone notice that PP, TP, and Rad have a running theme here?

I see Rad as Walter, one of the puppets in Jeff Dunham's comedy skit. No offense, makes me laugh, but you don't care if you offend us so it's all good.

I love this but have to agree with LWTCS and I will give several examples. I have met probably close to 10 members from this and other forums and Zymurgy Bob is the only one I have come close to recognizing. LWTCS was younger than I expected, PP who I have never met but on another forum we had a few master distillers allowed to post pictures that were safe and he was also younger but also could have appeared on Duck Dynasty. I met GA Flatwood while on the east coast. He was giving me directions while driving to where we were going to meet. With his avatar and his southern accent when we got done talking I turned to my wife and said how old do you think he is? She wasn't sure so I said I am guessing 70, I didn't realize I had not turned off my phone and he was listening to the whole conversation. After we met up and he shared some of his alcohol we had to hit the road again, he at that point made a comment about being 70, I did not realize he heard the conversation but we had a great laugh. He is at least 10 years younger than I am.

I've always imagined Rad with the looks of Red Green, and the intellect of Sheldon Cooper. TeePee always looked like Spicolli, only older. Jimbo always came across as someone innocuous, that you wouldn't think twice if you saw them, but could never forget if you met them. GA Flatwoods always looked like his avatar, in my head. I'd hate to hear what people have thought of me.

Couldn't have been my fingers . I've not posted any pictures here . Beyond that , you are about half way there . Full head of hair with some grey , nearly to my shoulders . Zapata mousetashe . Handy with a laugh or a story most of the time . When I wrap one of my hands around a 12 oz beer can it can't be seen .
>Got out of the habit of smilin at an early age . I was so damned ornery as a kid that any time anyone in the community saw me smilin they just automaticly commenced to stappin my legs for what I must have just done and hadn't been caught at ,yet . They was usually right

I love the whacky threads we start up.
Ive met 4 HD'rs, and seen pictures of 3 more in off HD chats and horsin. There's a reason they say never judge a book by its cover.

Its funny how we establish images of people or characters, online, or reading a book, or whatever. Its like our brain needs a face for every character in the play, and doesnt matter if its right or not, apparently, since our brain is usually dead wrong. I think Odin was closest to what I expected, but even he was 10 years younger than I thought. haha.
I have a solid image of Flatwoods, especially after talking to him on the phone several times now. And I have to laugh, because I know its dead wrong. Cant wait to meet him.
That cats face about nails Rad for me. HA!
Boda, you owe me a keyboard. Coke doesnt come off easily.

Did not expect that one...
Then again I'm not really sure what I thought PP might look like. Duck Dynasty fits real nice

I am honored just to be mentioned. The meet up with Bushman was awsome. They were all outside the van in the next space and I pulled up and made them move out of the way. I knew then they didnt recognize me! LOL. The look of shock said it all. Meeting Odin was like we both had known each other for years. We had a great day as well. I have met Stringbender, seen pictures of and talked toJimbo, talked to Rumplestilskin, GaShiner, Halfbaked, Olecajun, and Richard7. All great guys. I actually posted my picture once in an avatar. My avatar is my mental image of myself.

I am a cross between Jeff Dunham's character, peanut and Butthead. Which is prolly the same description as t_pee.
Actually, unfortunately, I look like the lead singer of Rascal Flats.

Walter for Rad was pretty close to my mental image of him. I've seen a pic of Jimbo he posted kinda the image one would have expected. It's funny how ones words can translate into such a menagerie of things. I see goose as a tall slender well spoken individual, so articulate that one hangs on every word.
I think the fingers with the fish were mine by the way.

Oops! I have to keep better track of these things. Last time I saw fingers that wide, they were a hot rod guys hands. He literally ground his fingers off, working on restorations.
Flatwoods, I think I could pick you out of a line up.
Woodshed, my guess would be quiet and sinewy. Most climbers know are lean, sharp, sun baked, and think about what they say before they say it.
Prairie Piss, I don't have a clue buddy.
So many people I would like to guess but once again my batting average leaves a little something to be desired.

I'll never trust my instincts against, I pictured you as clean cut, well dressed and if I didn't know you did some sort of mechanical work I'd think you were a office worker lol.
