Induction Heating

Hello,
Recently had a dumb family member who has it out for me let the water softening guy into the garage where my keg still was... He went off about how it's illegal and will blow up the house and insurance won't pay. She (my cousin) proceeded to wreck my coil and tell my grandfather I've gotta get rid of it. Now a bunch of people are on my case about this, I've cleaned it all up.
Looking to move back to basics for a while... Got a 5 Gallon stainless pot and an induction stovetop cooker. This induction stove top works in 10 degree increments (which I'm not sure is so great considering the narrow range of temperatures we've gotta maintain). Anyone have experience using an induction cook pad? Here's the unit.
