I see and hear a lot of guys using water filter gizmos to clean up their likker.
Don't use these things they have plastics and rubber in them they will leach chemicals.
If you are doing a neutral and have to clean it up use some activated charcoal not BBQ brickets
either, they will leach chemicals into your distillate also.If your doing whiskey there is no need for this process.
You will lose flavor in the process keep your equipment clean and only use good grains fruits and yeast, and don't rush your ferments. And make good cuts filtering will not be necessary.

There is a pdf readily available here on the forums stuffed full of everything one might need to know about how to properly use carbon. Let's not forget however, water IS a better filter.

Making neutral is exciting, until you actually do it. I've made and drank a sea of neutral vodka because its cheap and easy. Got a full keg of it under the bar... There is nothing worth writing home about the stuff.

As always, stay safe.
