Increase sugar content
I have some washes that I would like to increase their sugar content before adding yeast.
Assuming I have the right nutrients, is there a calculator (link?) or cheat sheet of pound(s) of sugar to gallon(s) of water that will increase percentage:
Example: 1 gallon of water with 1 pound sugar = 1.010; 2 pounds sugar = 1.020, and so on?

Parent site calculators. You should have found them during the mandatory research.

I was looking for a quick link but found them. Was it easier for you to berate than copy the link?
Anyone else that comes across this can find them at:

Re: Increase sugar content
Each pound of sugar per gallon of water will increase you gravity by .046 points. From there all you need to do is the math

Re: Increase sugar content
I have been thinking about this post today at work and I have done a disservice to alphadog007. I just gave him the gravity reading of 1 pound of sugar in one gallon of water. He doesn't know if I a telling him a fact or not as he doesn't know how to find out for him self. I have not taught him anything I gave him an answer. What if he wants to know how much malted 6 row barley to use in 5 gallons of water to get a SG of 1.060. Or a 8% mash or wash. Here is a link to figuring out the numbers for yourself for further reference. Everything has a PPG rating and these numbers will help you figure out how to make adjustments to get at the proper SG of your wash or mash.

He was hungry, you gave him a fish. Bear offered direction, but got bit for it. Some folks don't want to fish.corene1 wrote:I have been thinking about this post today at work and I have done a disservice to alphadog007.
