Quaker for sweetfeed

Post by countr3y boy »

I want to make a sweetfeed mash corn, barley, rolled oats, malasas. Thing is I can't get my hands on rolled oats can I use Quaker oatmill? I seen on a serch I did were it said its pretty mutch the same as long as it is not the insant kind but is it good enoph for brewing mashing and distilling? And what about using it for a AG sweetfeed mash?

If it's good enough to eat, it's more than good enough for brewing. Many here use grains/fruits/etc. that you would never really want to eat, but it all makes good spirits. It should be fine for sweetfeed or AG.

I do all oats with Quaker rolled oats. They work perfect...
20 pounds of Quaker oats from Sam's in 13 gallons of water!

im ready to rack off a 4gal mash w quaker for kids, rolled oats, and steel cut oats. i checked sg and sneeked a taste...wow...i have a feeling itll be a winner. oats arnt used often. use lotsa enzymes (amylase and beano). the Irish stopped making the oat wiskey in the 70's. ive found a few micro distilleries that make it in the states...
