15.5 Gallon Kegs

In our view 30 gallons and under is considered hobby size. Do not bring anything larger than this to our site.

Where is the best places to find used or new kegs locally? I live in a small town and in this town there is a Miller Brewing Plant and i still cant find one... or maybe i just dont know the places to look

this is very easy... go to yer local beer distributor buy a keg of beer.pay the diposit drink the beer and dont take the keg back..nothing to it

Hmmmmm, if you don't have the equipment to use with a keg won't it be expensive to throw away the beer, or you'll have to drink it flat like the english do ........


Flow 687, why do you specifically want a Keg ? You could also try to buy an old copper boiler. They come in various sizes. Try the scrapheap or place an add on the internet: wanted broken/defective boiler !!!!!

I got on the phone and started calling bars and liquor stores. Told them I was looking for a used keg. Everyone of them asked why. Told them I made homemade wine and wanted a keg to store and age the wine. Picked one up for $30, same as the deposit. :twisted:

You coul tell them you want to cut the top out and deep fry a turkey :wink: .

use to see em used as a gas tank on dune buggys and homemade grills

While I was in Dallas visiting my family for christmas, I found a brew shop in Richardson that sells empty half kegs for $12.95 :o . That was a walk-in purchase though. They metion having kegs on their site, but I didn't see anything about online ordering. It says to call or stop by. The one I bought had a special bonus....about a quart of old, nasty, flat Coors Light still inside...yuk
