Run rum with next batch or save LW and make spirit run

I did my first batch of rum. It has a kind of funny flavor that I think I did not clarify it properly and there was no dunder. It is not terrible just not good. Should I dump in and re run it with next batch or save my low wines and and run all together.

Can go either route but if it was me, I'd save them for in the fients jar. Seems to be a great place to put u liked stuff.

But you can strip the next batch n add the first one to it for a spirit run, really it's up to you.

I would make several batches, then do a spirit run. Also remember Rum needs a little aging in order to mellow and taste better.

I would also run several batches, until i had enough lowwine for a spiritrun.
Save the dunder...it's gold for a new ferment.
If you do it like this, your rum flavour will be significant better for each run you make.
Mine is now 6'th generation and develops a really nice flavour..

Before I built my pot still thirty odd years ago, I already knew that to make a decent rum and get worthwhile quantity, I had to have a fermenter that would take at least three charges worth of wash so that I could do strip and spirit runs. The only reason I ever ferment a single run of rum or whiskey is to make dunder or backset for use in the large fermenter. I never bother to try to steal a heart cut out of the low wines for drinking because it is rubbish compared to the finished product.
