spent UJSM corn as feed
Hey guys, I would like to feed my chicken the spent corn from my UJSM wash but I certainly don't want any alcohol on or in it. Does anyone know a method to make this happen? I'm wondering if it is safe to simply clean this corn by running it under fresh water? Or perhaps soaking it in water then cleaning? I'm worried this method wouldn't remove alcohol that has soaked into the corn. Perhaps rinsing it then throwing it in the over to dry?
So far I have been tossing it to the birds/chipmunks. I am going to reset my UJSM washes back to gen 1 today (using gen 4 backset) so I'll have a lot more than usual spent corn.

Why not give the chicks a treat? If they don't like it, they won't eat it. You could think of it as a "pre-marrianade".
Actually, the alcohol present is likely very low, if even present. And it would evaporate off quickly (even before the water) as the grains set.

My chickens love it, too. They even eat the sludge left from all-bran and corn flakes washes.

Do you rinse it or just feed it directly too them?

They do tend to take more naps after consumption however. No surprise there.

Looks like I have been wasting a lot of corn then. I was worried it would mess up their egg production. Thanks for the info.

Don't have any animals myself but used to just dump the corn on the lawn and the kids (1 and 3 at the time) used to get a kick out of all the crowd fightin over it. Now I dunno it all over at my buddies place, he's got a few chickens and pigs.
