Rum Wash

Post by Kappax »

I made a 14L water, 4L Molasses, and 1/2 lb granulated sugar wash. I added a packet of bakers yeast. I don't think it has fermented.

I make wine and I know when the fermentation occurs it should clear up.
My question is how much clearer does the wash get in this case since it starts out dark?

It doesn't taste sweet but I wouldn't expect it to be sweet because it doesn't have a large amount of sugar.

Bakers yeast is going to be less flocculant than most wine yeasts, so this might not behave exactly like you are used to.
