I was just getting ready to post exactly this question FMH. He has not posted since the middle of December. I also hope all is well with him.
His profile says "user inactive" not sure what that means exactly.

Re: Where's S-Cackalacky ?
I wish him well there but MD is akin to fishing in the dead sea as there's minimal activity. At one point it was VERY active with a wealth of knowledge from the aussie and NZ guys but a mass exodus killed it and the owner deleted the posts by the guys that jumped ship making it difficult to follow old thread due to the many voids in the conversations.

Good for him. He aint married to HD so I imagine playing the field has its rewards.
I tried signing up to all the other forums but for one reason or another didnt follow through as an active member to any. However, I still lurk the ADI Forums and the Still Dragon Forums. IMO those places are akin to the finishing pieces of a puzzle and a fantastic resource of expertise.

Yeah that's the link posted above. However, that is not uncommon so I have no reason to think he won't be back,Copper Thumper wrote:Is MD another forum FMH?

Re: Where's S-Cackalacky ?
POINT OF ORDER FMH, with all due respect as much as I don't want to talk about another forum here I do feel I need to correct your previous statement. Steven didn't delete anything, the forum had no editing restrictions and so a lot of those that chose to leave did somewhat maliciously choose to delete and damage the forum as much as possible on there way out. He tried to run the forum democraticly and it proved a mistake. I know this as I was one that saw the damage being done and contacted the owner with advise on how I thought he could save what was left. My experience is Doc is not a bad guy and the problem may have been a couple of then currant moderators

Re: Where's S-Cackalacky ?
Find it hard to believe that it was a full frontal attack on the site by those that left as well as all choosing to delete their posts as most of us don't have the computer skills or the necessary access to do so.
That would be one hellava conspiracy .
Nice place when it was frequented by many folks.

PhpBB has a setting that each user can mod their own posts indefinitely. Only takes one click to delete all posts. HD does not have this setting active that I am aware of. Also, when admin deletes a user, they can choose weather to delete all of their posts or leave them be.FreeMountainHermit wrote:Find it hard to believe that it was a full frontal attack on the site by those that left as well as all choosing to delete their posts as most of us don't have the computer skills or the necessary access to do so.

So one person can edit or delete all posts by any given number of members with this tool ?Monkeyman88 wrote:PhpBB has a setting that each user can mod their own posts indefinitely. Only takes one click to delete all posts.
No arguing but simply asking. Really difficult at times for some folks to post without being taken out of context when facial expressions, body language and tone of voice are taken out the equation.

Re: Where's S-Cackalacky ?
It was a dispute on who owed what, created some hard feelings and a bulk of the members at that time either worked for the company or were vested in their product so yes it was a full frontal attack. The forums founder I believe actually started the forum to give the company a voice so many members were moderators or friends and had the majority of posts. An argument about products that were owed for service rendered created open comments and the s%%# hit the fan.FreeMountainHermit wrote:Find it hard to believe that it was a full frontal attack on the site by those that left as well as all choosing to delete their posts as most of us don't have the computer skills or the necessary access to do so.

If the option is enabled.
I think HD has either a time or post limit on when you can edit your posts.

I for one will miss your posts, many other as well I'm sure.
Hope all is good with you mate

SC's official exit statement as per his request.
"I read the thread (where is SC) on HD and I would ask that you convey my apologies for causing concern for my well being."
