another Oaking question

Has anyone re-used the charred oak chips over and over again? or do you use them and discard them once they are used and start with a new batch for the new brew-- I've used mine twice, and they still give off nice colour and flavor. What I've done and I don't know if I should do it again, is char them again between usage to give them a "fresh" look and feel (so to speak)
Comments? would love to hear them.

I also reuse them, but it depends on what they are going into.
If i prefer a lighter oaking for my product, i reuse some of my chips..
You can char them again before use.
Without having tried it, i would think more than three times and all the goodies are gone.
The "worn out" chips are excellent as smokingchips for meat or fish.

I have recharred and reused staves several times before, chips as well. This is not a teabag you are using but they will not be as quick as fresh ones will be.
