I've been reading.
i have only made a sugar wash using turbo yeast and carbon. Wanting to try a different mash I decided to add rye to the wash, using all the same products. The clearing agent is seeming to take longer why?

Welcome to HD from another member from the Evergreen State. Turbo Yeast has all the nutrients built in so sugar and water is usually all that is needed. You will find that it works fast but the quality is not there, go to the Tried & True recipe section to find something you will enjoy drinking.
You will also want to make sure you do the required reading that can be found in my signature at the bottom of my post. Good Luck and be safe!
PS: I am guessing by your handle you are on the west side of the Cascades, I love fishing and all things pertaining to boating.

Good luck, enjoy the forums

From a newbie from WA as well… welcome. I've been reading here for quite some time (I can almost say "years" now) and have quietly learned quite a bit. This group of people are quality.

This is a great place to learn our craft. I am amazed how improved my product is since discovering this forum and learning from its members. I still have lots of learning to do and am looking forward to it. Welcome from another western WA member. North side of the ship canal myself.
