On the 27th of april my father passed away (http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... =7&t=61450) i got the call yesterday informing me his ashes were ready. He wanted half of his ashes put in his mother grave and half on his fathers grave. His sister called the place and asked and the told no they didn't allow that and it's also illegal. So now they are watching because it's one of those places where someone is there all day and gates are locked at night. I'm just going to wait a while and still do what my father wanted because i don't give a fuck what they say. But in the meantime i have dad here with me sitting on my nightstand next to my bed.
Even though i don't think dad would mind, i planning on doing 1 of 2 things (maybe both). I'm thinking of getting a jewelry urn like a cross and put a little of his ashes in it so i can always have him with me.
I'm lucky that i have an amazing tattoo artest in my family. I don't have any tattoos, but i'm thinking of having my cousin mix a little of dads ashes in some ink and giving me a tattoo. I don't know what it would be yet, but we lived by the life motto "Never Scared". The very first fight i got into when i was a kid, dad drove me to a park to meet my bully. The bullies dad drove his son to the park meet me for the fight. Dad and the Bullies dad talked and agreed that it must stop and to let us fight it out.
When i was sitting in the car i was really nervous and dad looked at me and said, "Never Scared".. And that something that stuck with me all my life.
I would like to have those words maybe incorporated into the tattoo.

Dealing with death and family wishes is a very personal thing. Sounds like you have given it a lot of thought. We just moved my mother-in-law and my father's ashes into her assisted living home. His wishes when he died over 10 years ago was to have his ashes spread over Puget Sound near Lincoln Park. My thoughts although I haven't talked to her is that my mother-in-law would like us when she dies to combine the ashes and spread them together.

My 2 kin that died last June a few days apart had their ashes combined.

My wife's grandmothers ashes are in a small angel on my wife's shoulder. The majority were scattered.

Do what your dad wanted, And the tattoo idea is bad a$$. My Father died and the step sister took the ashes and I have no idea where the remains are at this point.
