Theres no handbook to offer. There is some good folk here that are quite knowledgeable

maybe ask @steampunk. Most folk here have done hard yards to gain what they know. At this point I'd suggest google is your friend.

Welcome gintresting.

This is the best home distilling site on the web. A world of knowledge available to you. Learn to search and read, read, read. A good start is Cranky's Spoon Feed thread linked in my signature. Have at it.

Also, in the Tried & True Recipe forum, there is a fantistic recipe thread "Odin's EZ Gin". I suggest reading it through and through. If you follow that recipe to the letter, you'll make a great gin...guaranteed.

Be safe. Be responsible. And be discrete.

Welcome from the mainland! You're in the right place to learn everything you'll ever need to know about Gin :-)

Odin's Easy Gin is particularly popular in the Tried and True section :-)

Coming from a gin hater that is fine praise.
Thanks mate.

For me you need to learn how to make a good neutral first.
So having a clean neutral will give more chance for the botanical flavours to come through.

Hi Mate. Not a gin fan, but quite close geographically. Loads of great gin recipes here and on other sites.

Have you given thought to whether you plan to buy or build?

Can you solder?

Welcome to the club gintresting, One of the things on my bucket list is to build a gin basket and try my hand at gin as well. Good luck to you and your endeavors!
