Also floppy, if you could use punctuation it would help us "readers". When you run sentances together like that, it makes you look juvenile and your text difficult to interpret (which can lead to confusion). Please...use punctuation.
Thx.

Sounds like a nice pot still.
Use the tool at the bottom of the page, "upload attachment", to load pics directly to the site, I'd like to see your creation.

lol if your main concern on the internet is my grammar dont bother reading anything with my name its pretty easy to just move along
Re: first still i have ever made
Just don´t expect too much feedback once your posts go beyond three sentences.
I think it´s not correct grammar people are concerned with - it´s just a pain to decipher without any punctuation. Simple matter of common respect to put a bit of effort into your post to make it readable.

Punctuation.... it's the difference between:
"Joe and his big dog, Dick" vs "Joe and his big dog dick."
Good luck to you floppy and welcome!

Re: first still i have ever made
I am very keen on correct spelling, including interpunction. I even correct errors in my newspaper!
But I gave up on texts on the internet, because every nitwit is able to post texts here.
I have seen mistakes on this forums/fora that would have made me ashamed if I had made them. Although I am sure I make mistakes too. English is not my first language.
to = too = two??
Give this guy a break!

That still looks nice..
As you mentioned, the silicone gasket has to go.
It may be a bit difficult to find an adequate PTFE gasket for the lid (i assume that where the silicone is located now).
Good old flour paste will do the job just fine if you can't get such a gasket.
Just a remark...you may want to support the Liebig in a way.
The weight of it will stress the pipe coming from your riser and that will eventually lead to failure.

If it was me, I would rather raise my game to meet the higher standard than have everyone else dumb theirs down to meet mine.
But I fear I have already said more than might be considered prudent. After all, there is no particular reason for floppy to mind the sway of my opinion. I shall intrude here no more.

ill try and get back on topic here
those seals shoudnt be that hard to replace with PTFE tape. even look on amazon for PTFE sheets. probably have different widths x lenths x thinknesses to suit your need. ive never messed with flour paste because i started with ptfe tape and havent looked back. i think that would be your best bet to replace the silicone seals
btw around here you make more friends with sugar than with vinager. or from the
"simpsons " , " you make more friends with meat than with salad" LOL . prolly in your best bet make your welcome into this site as smoothly as possible . and something as simple as a period or comma will go a long way
good luck
cheers

Re: first still i have ever made
First still I made wasn't the first still I ran, made a simple pot still on a keg with a Liebig condenser, it was very much like the ones I'd seen sept it I didn't go with a worm as I got running water.
See the grammar Nazis are at it again, folks get over ya selves, we all got strengths and weaknesses. Good grammar is often as not produced by well educated dimwits to which I have met many. There is a certain honesty to writing in the fashion one thinks

Although I am a big fan of proper grammar, I have discovered that those that are slightly less literate often have some great contributions to creative hobbies like this one. Consider the gigantic run-on sentences a challenge, and don't judge a man foolish, until he's proven he is.
