The first distillery in my town ever opened not too long ago. they are doing a range of vodkas while they are waiting for the whiskey to mature.
They are also adding a Gin to their range very soon.
Have a look

Those are just your average Aussie girls you're seeing there JD.
Lots more where those came from.......
The owners have an interesting family name that I've seen on a bottle before somewhere....

We keep all the real purdy ones locked away, so you foreigners can't steal em.
Ever heard the (historically real) complaint by Aussie men about the US servicemen who used to do R&R in Oz during the second world war?
'Them bloody Yanks are over paid, over sexed, and over here!'
["Yanks". Yeah, yeah, I know, apologies to all you diehard Southern separatist rebels. But you're all Yanks to us.

They were/are a very big name in the wine and brandy industry here in South Oz.
An uncommon name in an uncommon industry makes me think that there is definitely a family connection there.

I think that the Angoves were a wine producing mob from Croweater land, coops. They dabbled in brandy too from memory although the memory from the crevices of my grog sodden brain is a little fallible.

the vodkas are quite nice, tried them at the chili festivals here a few weeks back. very much looking forward to seeing what they can do with the whiskey.
which begs me to ask, anyone tried canefire rum?
