So, driving to a family members house to give a birthday present(rum apple pie 1\2 gallon &1\2 gallon corn and oat uj and got pulled over. Told the cop to search it. He opened my jars and sniffed....identified corn and apple pie then informed me that you are allowed to make 200 gallons of beer and wine and 20 gallons of spirits a year. Lol!! Then proceded to show me pics of his still with him in the pic! Oh my fuxxxing god,i thought i was goin to the klink for being one of the duke boys of hazzard county and this sumbitch turns out to be as dumb as deputy Innis! He sure got a pretty alembic though and invited me over to show me how to make beer...minus hops...for distilling.
Im taking the go pro to get him on film !!!! God i love living in the asshole of nowhere tx.

As a 20 year Military Policeman (retiring in 3 weeks) I can say without a doubt, that I have ignored some laws that maybe didn't need to be enforced, and broken others I did not agree with.

Not saying it is right, but it is what it is.

You got a real break there cowboy ... I would be thanking my lucky stars instead of laughing at how dumb the police officer was.
They are people too and it was just luck you got one that either misunderstood the law or was acting dumb to give you a break.
Think how bad it could have went if he had been a smart ass ... arrested, jailed, car impounded, property seized, lawyer fees, jail time ... yeah ... he was the dumb one.

Im just happy it all worked out the way it did. He originally pulled me over because the front plate on truck wasnt on. It was on the dashboard propped up though, i pulled through a ditch a couple months back and knocked the bracket off the truck. He just didnt see it.
What really gets me is the math would be right.... 200 gallons of beer at 10%= 20 gallons liquor...

not sure if I posted here or not when I got pulled over by swat with many cases of shine, could be I didn't. In Oz when flak jacket cops with automatic weapons come sliding up to ya car both sides at near midnight its not a run of the mill licence and breath test check. Just come from interstate. The car stacked full of shine, hell yeah I was skittish. Torches in windows questions by the dozen all the while smiling and keeping cool as a cucumber. Well I got asked what the deal was with that amount of "wine" (yes I said it was wine, yes I might have been liberal with the truth) said I was making it in South Aust. and wanted to get back into it here, old mate in the passenger seat was almost going to water on me but held up. Seemed they was after someone no breath test nothing which didn't surprise me as driving offences are not swat's thing. Told us to go and by Cricky we did. We get to the shops to get smokes and the bloke with me says geez you stayed pretty cool and collected at which time I smiled got out the car and all a tremble spewed up. Would have been near impossible to explain the real and somewhat legitimate reason for carting all that shine from interstate, stone walls and steel bars not in it , just glad them fellas didn't notice me smiling side kick had pissed himself.
Should add I later found out those guys were looking for a pair of child rapists that had escaped from a prison so once identifying us did not give a hoot in hell for what contraband we mighta had. Lucky break oh you bet ya arse it was

JB , I had a different turn when I was in my teens . WV green bean pulled me over on WVTP . Made me load 70 gallons of shine in his car , took all my cash , and then bitch-slapped the hell out of me .
Tole me to get the hell back where I came from and not be drivin his road no more .

cops are people to, while its impossible to know every law on the books alot will be "ignorant" of the ones they can care less about. I know alot of El Paso cops, they are a strange breed though
