A lot of what causes the hangover is crappy cuts. Too much heads is hard on your head. A clean cut vodka is less likely to give you a hangover than whiskey as whiskey has more carcinogenics.

You may find that home made with good cuts is a different drunk. Also less likely to have a hangover.
