Well cannot find any of them screw lid type plastic drums / barrels in the 25 -35 gallon size . Has anybody got any idea what type business would get these ? All the ads on craigslist are sold out and do not have any. I need several. Any ideas might help me find them before second dealers get them. Thanks ahead for your input.

not sure of any specifics in your area but check with HAZMAT pick up companies, like the ones who pick up from retail stores. Mine just switched from 55g steel drums to 30g food grade containers. im gonna talk to my driver this week when he does his quarterly pick up

There are some 55 gal available but thats way bigger than I need. 25 would be great but 30 or 35 would work. Didn't really want the 55 if I can help it.

I bought a nice clean open top/ring band 30 gallon food grade blue barrel off E bay for cheap w/free shipping last year. Not many really screamin' good deals out there but checking each day may work to your advantage.

Car washes frequently get their chemicals in 30 gal HDPE drums. A factory I used to work in got additives for their heating boilers in the same.

Wash, clean, rewash, rinse, wash some more before using.

Go to eBay
under the shopping cart icon on the right side of the screen....click on the "Advanced" tab
when that opens look on the left side of the screen under Stores....click "Find Stores"
type the name to search....sunkist1956

call around to the big deli companies that make salza for supermarkets of do huge catering contracts. they get pickles and olives in those barrels. The one near me (and no where near you) sells them for 10 bucks as ?rain barrels".
that maybe a good search term on craigs list.

Tsc.rain barrels.
If its for use as a fermenter there's no real need for a lid to screw on.just use a Rubbermaid trash can.

I may have located a couple, I will know tomorrow when I call them. If not I might either do the trash can or get one off of Ebay. I appreciate all the input.

If you do get a brute trash can, make sure you flip it over and check if it's LDPE. Most of the new ones are.

Not a problem if you're only doing sugar washes, but if you plan to cook corn in them, realize that they get soft and are not food safe above 170.

Picked up 2 a few weeks ago for $25 each off Craigslist. They smelled weird but I let them soak in Oxyclean and water for several hours and they smell like new now.

I have heard water treatment plants are a source for barrels. I don't know for sure but may be worth calling about
