New distiller, questions!

Hi! I received a still for Christmas, and am having a good time with it. However, lately I am getting small white particles in both the uncut and cut spirits. I am doing grain and sugar washes and have a pot still, if that makes a difference. What can this be? And is it dangerous to consume? Thanks!
