Bibliography
Recreated most of the bibliography category:

Re: Bibliography
Am I correct that all titles are books? I do not see any article or even a title of a periodical, not even the ones one can get via internet. I once tried to start a topic about articles, but did not get much respons. But articles are a lot more up to date than books.
Another remark, but not against you: I think it is strange that someone who writes a book or text about an illegal activity, does not spread his writing freely, but wants to sell it legally.

Re: Bibliography
I have the "130 winemakers" if anyone wants to make a takeover bid
I feel that anyone with a good grasp of knowledge should be able to benefit from that knowledge on an "informational" basis. Why should it be "Free" to accumulate knowledge of illegal processes like making gunpowder perhaps ?

Maybe we need a "periodicals" category?Kareltje wrote:Am I correct that all titles are books? I do not see any article or even a title of a periodical, not even the ones one can get via internet. I think listing these things in the bibliography is a good idea.

Re: Bibliography
A category of periodicals about making or processing alcohol (f.e. about beer, wine or distilates).
and a category about articles of interest for us in quite different periodicals (f.e. an article about leaching lead out of brass in a periodical about plumbing).
How to contribute to these categories?

Re: Bibliography
We come up with a good, succinct category name and then at the bottom of your page you add:Kareltje wrote:A category of periodicals about making or processing alcohol (f.e. about beer, wine or distilates).

[[Category:Periodicals]]
[[Category:Glossary]]
Or something along those lines. I put most pages into the glossary category...

Re: Bibliography
I have collected some articles in http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... =1&t=62422
And trying to find periodicals I came across:
Cachaça by André Ricardo Alcarde ISBN: 9788521208433
at: http://www.buscape.com.br/cachaca-andre ... 852120843x" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
or: http://shopping.uol.com.br/cachaca-andr ... .html#rmcl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
(In Portuguese)
And a film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kKtez9pUQc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
For example: the Journal of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling would be accessible at:
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow)2050-0416
http://eu.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle ... d-JIB.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
https://www.ibd.org.uk/resources/journa ... f-brewing/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow)2050-0416/
I do not know how to contribute these to the bibliography.

Re: Bibliography
OK first example, the book has the same name as the spirit. So we can't duplicate pages. I edited:
http://homedistiller.org/wiki/index.php/Cacha%C3%A7a
To include a hyperlink to the book (see the bottom of the page) and then created this page for the book:
http://homedistiller.org/wiki/index.php/index.php ... A7a_(book)
If you view the source, you can see how I did the ISBN link.

Re: Bibliography
OK that journal is a great resource and articles can be hyperlinked as appropriate. In other words, the one about reducing hydrogen sulphide during cider fermentation could be referenced in the cider, or fermenation, or hydrogen sulphide pages, to name a few.
I created a bibliography page for the journal itself:
http://homedistiller.org/wiki/index.php/index.php ... of_Brewing
View the source and you can see that it's pretty simple creating the page. Just have to follow general guidelines of how other pages are made in this wiki so it stays consistent.

Re: Bibliography
I viewed the source, but it was to complicated to understand in a few moments. I have never learned to make internet pages and know by experience how easy it is to make big mistakes in learning new codes.
I browsed my topic and found two broken links and a few books.
http://www.palinkafozo100literes.hu/Dr. ... afozes.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
Lajos, Dr. Sólyom
Pálinkafözés. Kézikönyv kisüzemek számára.
Budapest, 1986
ISBN 963 232 210 X
This book is in Hungarian and almost nobody here can read it. But the author seems to be an authority and pictures and tables can easy be understood with only a few words.
http://bookshop.europa.eu/en/a-study-on ... CGNA16864/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
Adam, L. & G. Versini
A study on the possibilities to lower the content of methyl-alcohol in eau-de-vie from fruit.
European Commission, Directorate-General XII, EUR 16864 EN, 1996.
ISBN: 92-827-7208-X
A report on behalf of the European Commission in English about an important problem.
Herminio M. Brau
Compilation of Equilibrium Data for the System Ethanol-Water at Atmospheric Pressure
Rio Piedras: Agricultural Experiment Station, 1957
Technical Paper (University of Puerto Rico (Rio Piedras Campus) Agricultural Experiment Station) no. 19
https://books.google.nl/books/about/Com ... edir_esc=y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
http://www.worldcat.org/title/compilati ... c/24462447" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
These link was broken, but to me this work was a revelation, as it gives verey reliable data about the equilibrium.
Housam Binous & Mamdouh A. Al-Harthi
Simple batch distillation of a binary mixture.
Computer Applications in Engineering Education
vol 22 (4), dec 2014.
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1 ... 6/abstract" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... ry_Mixture" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
This article was funny, because the authors work at the Fahd University of Saudi Arabia, the kernel of islam!
And it gives a simple formula to calculate the mol-fraction of alcohol in vapour directly from the alcohol in the fluid.
I still do not see how to attribute these books and articles to you (our) bibiography.
Oh, and I made some contribution to the lemma Methanol, but that seemed to be deleted. Is there a reason for that?

Re: Bibliography
For some of the old PDF scans of things like Arroyo's "Lost Papers on Rum" are we ok posting the PDFs (not sure if we even can) or would you rather us post links. I don't want to create a situation were people might be posting something that might get you a nastygram from a publisher. But it also would be bad if we were to lose papers also...

Re: Bibliography
What you should do is create a page called "Arroyo's Lost Papers on Rum" or something to that effect. Upload the pdf using the "upload" feature, then link it from within the page you created so folks can one-click download it.Single Malt Yinzer wrote:For some of the old PDF scans of things like Arroyo's "Lost Papers on Rum" are we ok posting the PDFs (not sure if we even can) or would you rather us post links.
