Hello everyone,
I just built and ran my first corn mash using a Clawhammer still, and i have become absolutely enamored with this hobby. I appreciate everything everyone has already written concerning different recipes and procedures, and will continue reading until my eyes bleed.
My only wish is to get better at what it is we are doing here, and to make a product that is manageable and delicious.
This is all coming from a guy who didn't put water in his airlock for the first 12 hours of his fermentation, by the way. So, I'm basically a phenom at this.
Thanks guys,
Sourwood

Hey, Sourwood.
Make a to-do checklist and tape it to your ferment bucket.
It's otherwise easy to forget BIG things too at first.
Enjoy the recipes here. You cannot go wrong --and if you do, we can talk you off the ledge.
Have fun with that new still, and Welcome!

Welcome. I like sourwood honey. Makes a very lightly flavored mead.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I will absolutely make that checklist. That's a fantastic tip.
