Wanted to say hello to everyone.. see there are a lot of folk from Ontario, Ottawa and the Golden Horseshoe!

I am interested in the art and now have the backing to pickup or put together a mid-large personal use setup. Still collecting info and ideas, figuring what is going to work for me as far a heating and safety. Looking for any advice on sourcing items and what does or doesn't work for everyone! I know that there is no substitute for experience and I am grateful to everyone sharing on the forums!

Speak to everyone soon!

Hey all! Thanks for the welcome... took everyone's advice. Trolled Kijiji for a bit.. considered what I was going to output as far as end results.

I worked over all the pro's and con's of Kegs, SS Milk jugs.. build vs buy. In the end I decided the build would start to approach the buy costs in the end (after TIG welding etc) and you would still be left with a non-resell-able product if you decided to move up or on.

I also took the advice and didn't buy to small/limited.. vodka is on my list so that was a must. Did a little crowd sourcing and picked up my baby last night! Just trying to figure out the electrical heating and I will be ready to work out the kinks... have all I need for my first sugar wash!

I was looking at $200 for a large Keg, and then cutting holes (not a bid deal). Sanitary fittings were cheap enough but unless you know someone to tig the SS it gets pricey! I also wanted to have full & easy access to clean it. It was a tough call but lucky a used north still jug came up on Kijiji!

Nice! I was drooling over their website but couldn't justify the cost until I know I'll stick with it. Gonna build a simple pot still and fit it to my stainless brew kettle (Spike 10 gallon).
